Here at Yinn, we love lubricant.

That’s why we created two variations - one Water Based and the other Oil Based - to make sure your intimate moments stay nice and slippery no matter what. While both of our Lubricants effectively relieve dryness and discomfort by replenishing your natural moisture, different occasions call for different needs.

First, let’s look at the similarities.

Both The Water and The Oil Based Lubricants are:

  • 100% natural
  • Vegan
  • Cruelty-free
  • Made in Australia
  • Suited for sensitive skin
  • Great for solo or partner sex
  • Safe for use on vagina, penis or anus
  • Safe for use for conception, throughout pregnancy and while breastfeeding
There are distinct differences between the two, of course.

Before deciding which one is right for you, think about the context in which you’ll be using it. Are you using toys? Where are you using it? Are you using a condom? Are you happy to reapply if and as needed, or do you prefer a single application?

The Lubricant | Water Based

The Water Based Lubricant is formulated for hydration.

The gentle, pH balanced formula is safe for use with all toys, compatible with condoms, mess-free, stain-free and easy to clean off sheets.

This is a highly versatile and easy-to-use product.

Key Ingredients:

Organic Aloe Vera - Intensely soothing and hydrating with distinct gel-like texture perfect for facilitating glide.

Hyaluronic Acid - Naturally occurring component of our skin with incredibly high water retention properties, meaning it holds onto moisture.

Organic Calendula Extract - Has high mucilage (i.e. viscous fluid) content which works to moisturise delicate skin.

Organic Chamomile - An emollient that soothes, purifies, and protects skin from drying. Contains a component called Bisabolol, which is known to be antiseptic and anti-inflammatory.

Colloidal Silver - Naturally antibacterial, used in diluted version here for antimicrobial purposes.

The Lubricant | Oil Based

The Oil Based Lubricant is formulated for glide.

A nourishing blend of organic oils, this Lubricant is long-lasting and helps nurture the skin, meaning you won’t need to reapply or rinse off after use.

While we don’t recommend using The Oil Based Lubricant with condoms as the oils can dissolve the material (particularly latex), it is ideal when paired with The Juliet Pleasure Wand™.

Key Ingredients:

Organic Argan Oil - This is a non-comedogenic (i.e. won’t clog pores) oil rich in antioxidant Vitamin E and fatty acids which promote healthy skin growth and may protect against harmful pathogens.

Organic Pumpkin Seed Oil - A rich source of essential fatty acids that offers soothing benefits as well as long-lasting moisturisation without greasiness.

Organic Hemp Seed Oil - A moisturising emollient high in omega-3 essential fatty acids that is non-greasy and protective.

Organic Seabuckthorn Oil - Rich in minerals and antioxidants, this oil is known to boost elasticity and hydration while fighting inflammation.

Coconut Oil - A deeply moisturising oil rich in fatty acids known to have antimicrobial properties. Our formulation includes only a small amount, so is safe for vaginal use.

TL;DR

This chart summarises the main points of difference between The Lubricants:

 Water Based

Oil Based

Key Ingredients

Aloe Vera, Hyaluronic Acid, Calendula, Chamomile, Colloidal Silver

Argan Oil, Hemp Seed Oil, Seabuckthorn Oil, Pumpkin Seed Oil, Coconut Oil

Will I need to reapply?

Likely

No, this is a long lasting formula.

Can I use with sex toys?

Yes

Yes and no - we particularly recommend The Oil Based Lubricant paired with The Juliet Pleasure Wand.

If using other sex toys, please check with manufacturer of toy as to which Lubricant type is most suitable.

Can I use with condoms (latex and non-latex)?

Yes

No - the natural oils can actually breakdown the condom, so we do not recommend this pairing.

Can I use in the shower?

It's an okay idea - you can give it a go, but the water will probably wash it straight off and we'd hate for you to waste your product.

It's a better idea - despite the old saying, oil and water actually mix quite well in this context, so The Oil Based Lubricant is a better option for shower play.
