Yin Yoga and the regular practice of it, is the perfect way to un-numb yourself.
A tonic to the many times you have run away from sensation, turned your
attention from the present moment and pushed down the bubbling of what
needed to rise to the surface and release.
And why would I want to do that, you may ask?
The answer is that being in the feeling body, the one that is relaxed and receptive
enough to receive feedback means being ready to fully embody pleasure,
and true pleasure is one you immerse yourself in because you want to be fully
present and alive in your body.
You feel me?
A woman who is disconnected from her body, almost disassociated from the
subtle shifts of her inner terrain, is a woman that has blocked herself from desire
and deep feeling.
The practice of Yin Yoga is the invitation to drop into the body, to decompress
from your day, release, listen, soothe, and receive.
I vividly remember when I first met myself in a Yin class, I was buried bone deep
in grief and broken from the body jolting loss of a loved one.
Yin supported me to process the nuanced emotions that ravaged me and I
assisted myself in my deep healing by showing up regularly to my mat.
I have been forever changed by the stunningly simple and deeply potent practice
of Yin, the invitation to be with what is, fully and completely.
